Summary:
In a powerful address during a nationwide webinar, Shubhaanshu Jha —
the Founder and President of VBFC Welfare Foundation — called upon
Indian citizens to assume active responsibility in realising the vision
of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). Emphasizing the need for
administrative reforms, civic awareness, and cultural reverence, Jha
advocated for an inclusive, participatory, and values-driven path to
national progress.
Delivering a spirited keynote at a pan-India
virtual conference, Shubhaanshu Jha, Founder and President of the VBFC
Welfare Foundation, urged citizens to rise beyond passive spectatorship
and become co-architects of the Viksit Bharat Mission. Hailing the
government’s developmental push, he noted that while state-driven
initiatives are pivotal, they must be met with equally strong civic
participation for any long-term transformation.
"The state alone
cannot build a nation — the self-respect and confidence of its citizens
form the true litmus test of a developed India."
He stressed that
India’s growth trajectory must not only be measured in economic terms
but also through ethical, administrative, and democratic reforms. “We
must prioritize political transparency and administrative
accountability. Without reforming our systems, development will remain
cosmetic,” Jha stated.
He also underscored the vital role of the
media, calling it the fourth pillar of democracy. “The media must rise
above sensationalism and become a torchbearer of constructive,
solution-oriented journalism. Its duty lies in fostering informed
discourse, not discord.”
Warning against divisive ideologies, Jha
emphasized the need to protect the country from destabilising
narratives and internal dissonance. "Only a united, value-driven India
can earn its rightful place as ‘Vishwaguru’ — a moral and intellectual
guide for the world,” he said.
On civic duties, he appealed to
every Indian to not only be aware of their constitutional rights but
also to be equally committed to their duties. “Rights are meaningful
only when matched by a sense of responsibility. Civic maturity lies in
participation, not just expectation.”
Touching upon India’s rich
civilizational legacy, Jha reminded the audience of the country’s
glorious past — its contributions in knowledge, science, spirituality,
and culture. “We must ignite reverence for our national icons and
cultural heritage. A proud citizenry, rooted in its values, is the
greatest asset for a developed India.”
The
webinar witnessed participation from individuals across eight Indian
states, including educators, youth leaders, social workers, and policy
enthusiasts. The collective sentiment resonated with the belief that
development must evolve into a Jan Andolan — a people’s movement — not
merely a governmental agenda.
